About the Role

DICES LLC is seeking motivated Civil & Environmental Engineering Interns who are ready to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world impact. Headquartered in Hempstead, our team provides interns with a dynamic blend of office-based project coordination and hands-on field experience.

This role is ideal for self-motivated, growth-oriented students who possess a strong analytical mindset and a creative approach to tackling complex technical challenges. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will support compliance, oversight, and monitoring activities in strict accordance with New York City and State regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Environmental Monitoring: Conduct field testing for dust, vibration, noise, odor, and other critical environmental parameters.
• Construction Oversight: Assist with daily on-site monitoring, construction oversight, and site development support.
• Remediation & Compliance: Support environmental management plans and prepare detailed progress reports and technical documentation.
• Report preparation: Apply Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) to manage compliance records and facilitate smooth project communication.

Requirements

• Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Technology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
• Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction and 40-Hour HAZWOPER certifications (training support/sponsorship may be provided for the right candidate).
• Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat is a major plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with New York State (NYS) and New York City (NYC) environmental and construction regulations is preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Logistics: A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for required fieldwork and site travel. Prior field or laboratory experience is a plus.
