Graduate Assistant - OSIL

Summary of Job Duties:The Graduate Assistant for SIL position oversees the A6/SIL welcome desk, coordinates the resource room, and assists with special projects. The GA will develop knowledge and skills in these major areas of responsibility: program coordination, student advising, budgeting, and assessment. The Graduate Assistant role is one that contributes significantly to the overall operation of SIL. The graduate assistant will be supervised by Director for SIL. 

This position will develop UA Career-Ready skills such as leadership, critical thinking, teamwork, communication and professionalism.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

Enrollment in the Graduate College at the University of Arkansas

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in student activities, leadership, student organizations, marketing

Event coordination as an undergraduate student

Compensation & Benefits:

Appointment and Compensation - 12-month appointment at 20 hours per week (.50 FTE) including an in-state tuition waiver and a salary of $19,260

 

Hours and Schedule:

The position is designed to be a 20 hour per week in-person commitment.

Weekly hours worked between 8am-5pm with some evening/weekend commitments

 

Employment Timeline:

12-month graduate assistant position usually employs July through July.
