Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician
Preforms analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The pay range is $32.43 - $48.66 for MT and $26.52-$39.32 per hour for MLT.
Qualifications
For MT- Baccalaureate Degree in one of the following:
- Medical Technology (MT)
- Medical Laboratory Science (MLS)
- Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS)
Or Bachelor’s degree plus Certificate in Medical laboratory Science (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), Medical Technology (MT), as recognized by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is required. An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.
For MLT- Associate’s degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.
