ADMISSIONS ASSOCIATE 

The Synapse School in Menlo Park, CA, an innovative TK-8 independent school located in the heart of Silicon Valley, dedicated to rethinking and reimagining education, seeks a full time Admissions Associate to support the Director of Admissions.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Synapse School has an opening for an ADMISSIONS ASSOCIATE effective August 3. This is a full time, salaried position with benefits.


 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

  • Be an ambassador for Synapse School’s mission, vision and values
  • Provide direct administrative support to the Director of Admissions
  • Work evening and weekend events in addition to school hours
  • Support the application process with prospective families, from inquiry to enrollment 
  • Correspond with prospective families 
  • Maintain information in Ravenna application database 
  • Support all Admissions events including information nights, school tours, applicant visits, playgroups and fairs
  • Assist with website and marketing
  • Support all school functions and supervision of TK-8th grade students as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


 

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and warm personality
  • Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with problem solving skills
  • Ability to anticipate needs and proactively initiate workflow and be adaptable
  • Growth mindset and willingness to learn new databases and systems
  • Advanced computer skills especially in Google Sheets, Docs and Slides 
  • Reliability and strong work ethic 
  • Availability to work evening and weekend events in addition to school hours
  • Professional and proactive communication skills
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, managing many projects and tasks at once
  • Passion for Admissions and Synapse School
  • Experience in education, sales, marketing, database management, event planning, customer service a plus
  • Second or multiple languages a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE: 

  • Ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations.
  • Able to stand and circulate for extended periods of time. 
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with students, colleagues and prospective families. 
  • Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as equipment or supplies.

COMPENSATION

$62,000 - $70,000/year
