Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Play-Based Preschool Teacher Assistant! In this dynamic role, you will support our lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays - 8:30AM - 12:30PM
Late August 2026 through end of May 2027 (with potential for some Summer hours if interested!)
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing play-based curriculum activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Support children during classroom activities, ensuring safety and positive behavior management
- Prepare learning materials and set up engaging learning stations aligned with teachers planned lesson plans
- Foster inclusive classroom environments by working effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Observe and document children's progress, sharing insights with teachers to tailor individual learning experiences
- Support daily routines to ensure smooth transitions and comfort for all children
- Maintain open communication with children, parents, and team members to promote a collaborative learning atmosphere
Requirements
- *Minimum of 6 ECE units.*
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for working with children and supporting their growth through play-based learning approaches!
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
