Admin Assistant / Clinical Support Specialist — Part-Time

Mountaineer Psychological Services (MPS) is seeking a dependable, organized, and personable team member for a unique part-time opportunity that combines administrative experience with hands-on exposure to behavioral health and psychological assessment.

 

This is more than a front desk role. You will gain meaningful experience working with clients, psychologists, therapists, trainees, referral sources, and community providers while learning how an established behavioral health private practice operates.

You'll gain experience with:

  • Client interaction and professional communication
  • Processing referrals and scheduling
  • Working with providers and outside agencies
  • Psychological assessment support and administration
  • Private practice operations and behavioral healthcare systems
  • Exposure to a wide range of clinical concerns and therapeutic approaches
  • Insurance billing, compliance, and private practice management

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing referrals and scheduling appointments
  • Answering phones and responding to routine emails
  • Processing payments and supporting office operations
  • Assisting with psychological assessment administration
  • Accurate data entry and records maintenance using our practice management system (training provided)
  • Handling confidential information with discretion (HIPAA training provided)
  • Helping maintain a welcoming, professional environment

 

Ideal candidate:

Reliable. Mature. Organized. Personable. Conscientious. Open-minded. Comfortable with basic computer tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar). Willing to take initiative, learn new systems quickly, and grow professionally.

 

This role is ideal for a recent graduate in psychology, social work, counseling, neuroscience, human services, or related fields seeking meaningful experience before graduate school or career planning.

Position Details:

  • Approximately 16 hours/week
  • Pay: $14–$17/hr depending on experience
  • Paid Time Off after 90 days
  • Some paid holidays

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

 

MPS maintains collaborative relationships with local faculty and graduate training programs and values mentorship and professional growth. Strong performers may receive mentorship and letters of recommendation for graduate or professional school applications.

 

Must have day-time availability M-F.
