Who You Are
You are an out-of-the-box thinker, dynamic college student with vision, intellect, an entrepreneurial spirit and a rich grasp of the social media landscape. You are passionate about social innovation and looking for an exciting, lively creative environment where you will NOT be stuck making copies, taking notes or running errands at a large firm, but where you CAN expand your skills and have the freedom to strategize digital marketing campaigns, collaborate to bring ideas to life and make a social impact at a boutique fun tech startup.
Your Impact
As a Social Media Digital Marketing & Product Development Intern, you will have the unique priceless opportunity to make an impact at a fun social impact tech start-up and gain direct hands-on experience and exposure to all facets of social entrepreneurship, from business development, data analytics, venture capital, marketing and more. You will work closely with the North Node team to help create, moderate, manage, analyze and optimize social channels of communications with the community and help identify, strategize and penetrate new mediums to market the North Node brand and deliver its core message to our user base. You will engage in a positive community-based culture that is committed to our goal of continuously working towards a humanitarian society advocating compassion, integrity and good citizenship.
Your Role and Responsibilities
North Node is hosting a virtual part-time Summer Internship to on-board a driven, energetic, friendly, communicative self-starter who will assist with our social media marketing by brainstorming and executing a successful campaign in an intimate tech startup. North Node’s branding and marketing strategies are bold, fearless, and fun, requiring an intern who will raise the bar for the company and bring a tremendous amount of attitude, energy, creativity, and competitiveness. The intern will help with expanding North Node's social media platforms, deepen community involvement and grow brand engagement and advocacy. Tasks include:
• Work with founder to execute on a social media strategy through audience segmentation and messaging plan
• Create content - innovating to push new ideas and formats and measuring how well those ideas perform
• Build brand awareness and increase brand enthusiasm via digital marketing
• Enhance communications initiatives through the creation of interactive engaging content
• Harmonize the social media strategy with North Node’s core values
• Brainstorm, pitch and conceptualize original content ideas
• Help design and develop a prelaunch marketing campaign
• Manage social media, content calendar, partnerships and inbound user interactions
• Grow TikTok and Instagram accounts with bold, fun, and energetic marketing.
• Engage followers and curate cool campaign ideas to create successful posts
Your Qualifications and Skills
• Marketing, Design or Communications (or any related field) Full-time Student or Recent Grad
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets & Docs
• Social Media Savvy (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter)
• Strong Social Media Following on Personal Platforms
• Passion for Social Media, Storytelling, Pop Culture, News, Fresh Trends & Styles, Social Impact and Philanthropy
• Strong Written and Verbal Communications Skills
• Tech Experience preferred
North Node is willing to offer college students the internship in exchange for academic credit at the end of the program.
Part-time internship- 3 months minimum with potential of extending.
