Land Surveying Company in the Waukesha Area – Full-Time Position Available

A well-established land surveying firm in the Waukesha area is seeking a qualified full-time professional to support our survey drafting and field operations. This position is fast-paced and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in survey calculations and Civil3D.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. File Preparation for Drafting
Prepare survey files for drafting by performing boundary calculations using point data, legal descriptions, tax maps, plats, and related records. Set up viewports and organize Civil 3D files so the primary drafter has clear direction on drafting requirements. This role focuses on boundary analysis and file preparation rather than performing full drafting.
Expected workload: approximately 15–30 files per day in a fast-paced environment.

2. Survey Quality Control Review
Perform quality control checks of completed survey drafts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper depiction of boundary lines, features, and annotations. Identify discrepancies and provide clear direction for revisions. When necessary and time-sensitive, make adjustments directly to maintain project timelines.

3. Field Support Calculations
Provide prompt and accurate on-the-fly survey calculations to support field crews in staking property corners and other survey points. This requires the ability to work efficiently and accurately under time-sensitive conditions.

4. Backup Drafting Support
Provide full survey drafting support as needed; however, the primary focus of this position is on file preparation, quality control, and field calculation support as outlined above.
