(Unpaid, Part-Time) - Event Planning Coordinator
Impactful Education Summer Program is an intensive learning initiative designed to provide students in Anyama with access to literacy, digital skills, creative workshops, leadership development, and educational opportunities outside the traditional classroom. Each year, the program brings together students, educators, volunteers, and partners to create a dynamic learning environment that nurtures curiosity, strengthens academic skills, and builds confidence.
As the program continues to grow, Impactful Education is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Event Planning Coordinator to support the planning and execution of the Summer Program Closing Ceremony. The event will serve as an opportunity to celebrate student achievements, increase community visibility, strengthen partnerships, showcase program impact, and engage supporters and stakeholders.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE
- Support the planning and coordination of the Summer Program Closing Ceremony
- Help increase visibility and community engagement around the program
- Assist in creating an impactful and well-organized event experience
- Support partnership outreach and stakeholder engagement
- Contribute to showcasing the achievements and impact of the Summer Program
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning & Coordination
- Assist in planning the Summer Program Closing Ceremony logistics and schedule
- Coordinate event timelines, materials, guests, speakers, and partners
- Support strategies to increase attendance and community participation
- Assist with outreach to local organizations, schools, partners, and supporters
- Support preparation of sponsorship materials and partnership communications
- Assist with presentations, recognition moments, and program highlights
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Creativity and attention to detail
- Interest in education, youth development, nonprofit work, or community engagement
- Experience in event planning, coordination, communications, or hospitality is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- English required; French is a plus but not required
IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY & COMMITMENT REQUIREMENTS
To ensure continuity and effective event preparation, candidates should be available to support planning activities leading up to the Summer Program Closing Ceremony.
This is a voluntary and unpaid position offered as part of the Summer Program initiative. In return, participants will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit event planning, community engagement, partnership development, and program coordination while contributing directly to a high-impact educational initiative. A formal letter of recommendation will be provided upon successful completion.
