Student AI Tester & Clinical Consultant

Location: Remote / Flexible

Type: Paid / Internship / Professional Development

Target Candidates: Medical Students (MD/DO), Physician Assistant Students, Nursing Students, or Graduate Students (Bio-informatics, Health Data Science)

About Blue Clay Health: Blue Clay Health is a private medical advisory service founded by former Naval officer Chris Riley following his family's personal journey navigating his son’s complex stroke recovery. Witnessing the "Coordination Chaos" of fragmented records and disconnected specialists firsthand, Riley built Blue Clay Health to replace traditional, siloed healthcare with a unified, team-based care model. Powered by our proprietary collaborative workspace, Ensemble, we bring together elite medical specialists to work asynchronously on a centralized record, resolving clinical conflicts in real time. Our mission is to dismantle geographic and systemic barriers, providing patients facing complex conditions with continuous clarity, safety, and a single, accountable path forward.

About the Project: Ensemble is a cutting-edge healthcare technology platform dedicated to reducing friction in the medical revenue cycle and clinical workflows. We are currently developing Cora, our proprietary AI system designed to bridge the gap between clinical documentation and administrative efficiency.

We believe that for AI to be successful in healthcare, it must be shaped by those on the front lines. We are looking for motivated students to help us stress-test Cora, evaluate its clinical accuracy, and provide feedback on the user interface of the Ensemble platform.

The Role: As a Student AI Tester, you will have a direct seat at the table in the development of a next-generation AI. This is a "Human-in-the-Loop" role where your clinical knowledge or administrative insight will be used to train and refine Cora.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Testing: Engage with the Ensemble platform to perform simulated clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Cora Feedback: Evaluate Cora’s AI-generated outputs (e.g., clinical summaries, denial appeals, or predictive insights) for accuracy and relevance.
  • UX/UI Review: Provide structured feedback on the platform’s usability from a provider or administrator perspective.
  • Structured Feedback: Complete detailed feedback surveys regarding your user experience, the tool’s clinical utility, and any potential bugs or errors discovered.
  • Time Commitment: Up to 10 hours per week for an initial duration of 2 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Resume Building: Demonstrate experience in "Human-in-the-Loop" AI training and health-tech consulting.
  • Professional Networking: Opportunity to engage with the team behind Ensemble and gain insights into the health-tech startup ecosystem.
  • Long-Term Collaboration with Blue Clay Health: High-performing testers will be prioritized for future opportunities with the company.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a medical (MD/DO/PA/NP) or graduate-level healthcare/STEM program.
  • A strong interest in how AI can reduce provider burnout, administrative friction, and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication skills for articulating technical or clinical feedback.

Compensation: Participants who complete the full electronic testing module and feedback session will receive a $500 Visa electronic gift card as a one-time payment for their time and expertise.
