The Role
VersaDesk is looking for a motivated and analytical Freight Analyst Intern to join our team. This internship is focused on analyzing shipping data, identifying the best freight routes and transportation channels, and building variables and reporting systems that help improve shipping efficiency and cost performance across the business.
You’ll work closely with internal teams to evaluate carrier performance, compare freight methods, monitor shipping trends, and help create systems that support smarter operational decisions within a fast-paced direct-to-consumer manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze shipping routes, freight charges, and carrier performance data
- Determine the most efficient and cost-effective freight channels and transportation methods
- Create and organize variables, reports, and tracking systems related to freight operations
- Monitor shipping trends, delivery timelines, and operational performance metrics
- Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce shipping costs and improve efficiency
- Support data reporting and operational analysis across multiple shipping channels
- Work with internal teams to improve freight workflows and reporting accuracy
- Maintain organized freight records and performance documentation
- Assist in evaluating shipping strategies and operational processes
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Comfortable working with data, reports, and operational systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized
- Interest in logistics, freight operations, transportation, or supply chain management
- Experience with freight software, ERP systems, or reporting tools is a plus, but not required
