About Temple Shalom
Temple Shalom is a vibrant, growing Reform Jewish congregation serving the Dallas-area community. We are seeking a creative, organized, and proactive Marketing Coordinator to manage day-to-day marketing and communications efforts that help engage our congregation, promote programs and events, and tell the ongoing story of Temple Shalom.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both creative work and project coordination and can independently manage multiple marketing priorities in a fast-paced community environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation & Social Media
- Plan, create, schedule, and manage social media content across Temple platforms
- Capture photos and short-form video content from programs, events, and community life
- Create engaging visual and written content that reflects Temple Shalom’s voice and mission
- Help maintain a consistent brand across communications
Website & Digital Communications
- Update and maintain the Temple Shalom website using WordPress, including event pages, blog posts, program information, and community resources
- Build, format, and distribute weekly emails, announcements, and other digital communications
- Produce Temple Shalom’s quarterly digital magazine, including content gathering, editing, layout/design coordination, and distribution
- Ensure online content is accurate, timely, and visually polished
Design & Print Materials
- Create marketing materials including flyers, signage, social graphics, digital ads, and event collateral using Canva and similar tools
- Prepare files for print and digital distribution
- Coordinate with outside vendors as needed
Marketing Coordination
- Maintain the marketing calendar and manage deadlines for multiple projects
- Coordinate with clergy, staff, committees, and program leaders to gather content, updates, and approvals
- Support marketing efforts for major programs, events, holidays, and fundraising initiatives
Photography & Community Outreach
- Capture and organize photos and short videos for ongoing use
- Manage digital photo/media libraries
- Submit events to community calendars and support local promotional outreach
- Assist with press releases and community partnerships as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in marketing, communications, social media, or content creation through employment, internships, freelance work, campus leadership, or similar experience
- Experience updating websites using WordPress
- Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar)
- Proficiency in Canva or similar design tools
- Strong written communication and proofreading skills
- Experience managing social media platforms for an organization, business, student group, or brand
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities independently
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for Temple events and programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Photography and/or basic video editing experience
- Experience with nonprofit, school, faith-based, or community organizations
- Familiarity with Jewish community life or enthusiasm for learning synagogue culture and calendar rhythms
- Experience with event promotion, community outreach, or public relations
