Material Handler
The Material Handler position will provide onsite logistical and building maintenance support. The Material Handler must have good customer service skills. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft software, will support the successful candidate. The ability to work independently and be a responsible self-starter is essential for success in this position.
Shift: 7am - 3:30pm (M-F)
Essential Functions:
- Work under direction of warehouse lead
- Pulling and issuing material for construction and maintenance projects
- Inspecting material
- Transferring material
- Replenishing material
- Processing orders
- Performing quality control
- Performing inventory auditing/accounting functions
- Performing routine maintenance
- Preparing for disposal of materials
- Recycling and salvaging materials
- Operating forklift
- Assisting in emergency restoration
- Supporting other warehouse workloads as required
- Performing general housekeeping, cleaning and sweeping daily or as needed
- Banding transformers
- Data entry
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft software
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in ALL weather conditions
- Stand, walk and sit for over 2/3 of the time.
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel under 2/3 of the time.
- Reach with hands or arms under 2/3 of the time.
- Climb or balance under 1/3 of the time.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl under 1/3 of the time.
- Talk and hear clearly.
- Lift up to 50 pounds under 1/3 of the time.
- Occasionally help reorganize spaces and help move small objects
- Work in high, precarious places under 1/3 of the time.
