Photography / Videography Intern — Visual Content Production

First Sequoia Financial is an independent financial planning firm affiliated with Cambridge Investment Research. Our mission is to help individuals and families make smart decisions about their money through thoughtful financial planning and investment management.

First Sequoia Financial is a growing Bay Area financial advisory firm managing $300M+ in client assets. We serve families, professionals, business owners, retirees, and community leaders through comprehensive financial planning and investment management.

We are seeking a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented college student to join our team as a Photography / Videography Intern — Visual Content Production for Summer 2026.

This is a hands-on position designed to give you real-world experience in photography, videography, short-form video production, visual branding, and the marketing side of a professional wealth management firm. You will work directly with our senior financial advisors and support staff to capture and organize high-quality visual content for the firm.

Role Overview

The Photography / Videography Intern will help capture high-quality photo and video content for First Sequoia Financial’s branding, website, social media, newsletters, educational content, community events, client education events, and promotional materials.

This is a more focused production role compared to the broader Marketing & Content Creator Intern role. This position is best for someone who is strong behind the camera and enjoys filming, photographing, editing, and organizing visual assets.

The ideal candidate can capture clean, professional content, organize files clearly, edit short clips, and support the firm’s growing visual content library.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Capturing professional photos for the firm’s website, social media, newsletters, and marketing materials
  • Filming short-form video content with the founder/advisor
  • Capturing B-roll of office, business, community, lifestyle, and event content
  • Supporting filming for educational videos, promotional videos, and business updates
  • Taking photos and videos at office meetings, community events, networking events, and educational seminars
  • Helping record behind-the-scenes business-building content
  • Editing short video clips for social media and internal use
  • Creating simple captions, subtitles, titles, and thumbnails when needed
  • Organizing raw footage, edited clips, and photos in Google Drive
  • Creating a reusable visual content library for the firm
  • Helping identify strong visual moments, useful B-roll, and usable clips
  • Taking notes during filming sessions to track usable content and follow-up edits
  • Coordinating with the founder or content lead on visual content needs
  • Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in a financial advisory environment

This role does not involve giving financial advice, investment recommendations, tax advice, or legal advice. Any financial planning, investment, or advisory-related content must be reviewed and approved before posting.

The intern must avoid sharing or posting:

  • Confidential client information
  • Client names or images without approval
  • Investment recommendations
  • Promises of performance
  • Unapproved firm content
  • Sensitive business information

Equipment

Having your own camera, smartphone, microphone, tripod, lighting, or editing software is a plus, but not required. The most important qualities are reliability, creativity, organization, and the ability to produce clean, useful content.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Dates: June 1 – September 1, 2026
  • Hours: 10–15 hours per week
  • Pay: $20/hour, depending on experience
  • Location: Hybrid, with some in-person work in the Bay Area / East Bay
