Compensation: $35–$37/hour, based on experience
About the Role
We are looking for reliable and engaging Coding Instructors to support our elementary afterschool enrichment program in Berkeley for Fall 2026. In this role, you’ll help students explore the basics of coding through structured, hands-on activities designed to build confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Instructors should be comfortable working with younger students and adapting lessons to keep learning fun, interactive, and accessible.
What You’ll Do
- Lead afterschool coding sessions for elementary students
- Guide students through beginner-friendly coding activities and projects
- Create a supportive and well-managed classroom environment
- Encourage collaboration, curiosity, and positive participation
- Supervise students and ensure safety during all activities
- Submit a short after-class summary after each session
- Coordinate professionally with program staff and school partners
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Background in coding, STEM, education, or related experience is a plus
- Clear communication and strong classroom management skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Requirements
- Must pass a background check prior to starting
- Must complete a brief written report after each class session
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time role for Fall Afterschool 2026
- $35–$37/hour depending on experience
- Weekday afterschool hours
