About the Role
We are seeking dependable and enthusiastic Culinary Instructors to lead elementary afterschool enrichment classes in Berkeley for Fall 2026. In this role, you will introduce students to basic cooking concepts, kitchen safety, and simple recipes through hands-on, age-appropriate activities.
The goal is to create a fun, structured environment where students can explore creativity, teamwork, and confidence through food-based learning experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Lead afterschool culinary enrichment sessions for elementary students
- Teach basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, and food preparation concepts
- Facilitate simple, hands-on recipes appropriate for young learners
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Supervise students closely during all cooking activities
- Encourage teamwork, independence, and positive participation
- Submit a brief after-class report following each session
- Communicate professionally with program staff and school partners
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Background in culinary arts, nutrition, education, or related experience is a plus
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Comfortable leading hands-on, activity-based instruction
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

- Must complete a short after-class written report after each session
- Must maintain a safe and structured environment during all activities
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time role for Fall Afterschool 2026
- $35–$37/hour depending on experience
- Weekday afterschool schedule
