Assistant Brewer Internship
Batch Mead is seeking a motivated Production Intern interested in learning the hands-on process of craft mead and cider production. This internship will support the production team with daily operations, sanitation, ingredient preparation, bottling, packaging, order fulfillment, and general facility organization.
This is a practical, production-focused internship ideal for someone interested in fermentation, beverage production, small business operations, or craft alcohol. The intern will work closely with the production team and gain exposure to the full process of making mead, from raw ingredients to finished bottles.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Production Intern may assist with:
- Preparing ingredients such as honey, fruit, yeast, and adjuncts
- Supporting batch mixing, transfers, fermentation setup, and production timelines
- Assisting with racking, filtering, stabilization, and bottling preparation
- Helping with bottling day setup, bottle labeling, packaging, and quality checks
- Maintaining proper fill levels, label placement, and finished product presentation
- Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, hoses, pumps, tools, surfaces, and production areas
- Organizing raw materials, packaging supplies, and production storage areas
- Tracking basic production details, bottle counts, and process steps
- Assisting with order fulfillment and general operational tasks as needed
- Following safety, sanitation, and standard operating procedures at all times

Ideal Candidate
The ideal intern is dependable, detail-oriented, willing to learn, comfortable with hands-on work, and able to follow instructions carefully. No prior brewing or mead-making experience is required, but an interest in fermentation, craft beverages, food science, hospitality, or small business operations is helpful. This role requires standing, light lifting, cleaning, repetitive tasks, and working in a production environment.
