About the Roles
We are offering paid internship opportunities with the Steadman Group. Interns will be matched to projects based on their experience, interests, and professional development goals. For Fall 2026, the following opportunities are available:
Behavioral Health
We are seeking one intern to support behavioral health and substance use prevention and recovery initiatives, including:
- Program evaluation, research, and data collection activities
- Support for Substance Use First Aid® (SUFA) trainings and initiatives
- Development of outreach materials, reports, and presentations
Community Safety and Criminology
We are seeking one intern to support community safety- and criminology-related projects, including:
- Youth deflection and diversion
- Juvenile justice evaluations and report writing
- Medicaid adaptations into carceral and re-entry systems
Grant Writing
We are seeking one intern to support grant development and proposal writing for nonprofit organizations.
Healthcare
We are seeking one intern to support healthcare consulting services and online platform development, including:
- Support for rural health and behavioral health providers
- Housing, food insecurity, and jail-based programming initiatives
- Research, content development, project coordination, and administrative support
Opioid Settlement and Organizational Development
We are seeking up to four interns to support projects related to opioid settlement (in Colorado and nationally) and organizational development, including:
- Needs assessments and gap analyses
- Program and impact evaluations
- National Opioid Settlement Conference support
- Strategic planning and meeting facilitation
Eligibility and Qualifications
- Interns may be undergraduate or graduate students, or individuals not currently affiliated with an educational institution.
- Ideal candidates will have strong writing, communication, and research skills, with familiarity with behavioral health, public health, or social services topics. Experience with specific opportunity areas (e.g., grant writing, criminology, evaluation) is preferred. Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, professional, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- We may be able to accommodate practicum or capstone requirements for some positions. Applicants interested in integrating academic requirements into the internship experience are encouraged to mention this in their application materials.
Time Commitment and Compensation
- August - December 2026, with opportunities for extension
- Fully remote, part-time positions, averaging 5–10 hours per week (up to 15 hours during peak periods)
- Pay: $19-$24 per hour, depending on experience
