Mayfly Research Fellow - Summer 2026 - Work Study or Regular Pay

UW-Whitewater at Rock County Summer Mayfly Research Fellows

This is a part-time student employee position and is located at the UW-Whitewater at Rock County campus. Students hired will be expected to work on the Rock campus in Janesville, Wisconsin. Rate of Pay: $15/Hr

Hours: 10 hours per week- Variable hours - mostly morning to early afternoon, but some nights and extended travel are available but not required.

Anticipated start date: 5/21/2026

Anticipated end date: 9/8/2026

Work Study not required

Job Duties: Conduct field work to collect insect specimens for research. Perform laboratory work to process samples and identify insects. Assist with selecting collection sites.

Qualifications/Experience: Previous biology lab course work required. Ability and willingness to work in both field (in streams and lakes) and laboratory settings required. Ability to follow field and laboratory research and safety protocols required. Experience in entomological research desired.
