IT Support Technician

Job Description: 

 

The IT contractor will provide hands‑on IT support with a primary focus on PC client imaging and deployment, service desk ticket resolution, and IT asset management, including patching and updates. This role supports day‑to‑day technical operations to ensure end‑users receive timely assistance and that IT equipment remains properly maintained and documented.
 

Essential Functions:


PC Client Imaging & Deployment
Perform imaging, configuration, and deployment of laptops, desktops, and related peripherals. Support refresh cycles and ensure devices are prepared according to company standards.

Service Desk Support (Tickets & Processing)
Respond to and resolve support tickets involving hardware, software, basic networking, and peripheral issues. Document all work in the ticketing system and escalate when needed.

Asset Management
Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware and software. Track equipment assignments, returns, and updates. Assist with procurement-related activities as needed.

Patching & Updates
Execute client patching and software updates following established schedules and compliance requirements.

 

Qualifications: 

  •  Currently pursuing (or recently completed) coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and common PC hardware.
  • Familiarity with installing software, troubleshooting simple issues, or imaging tools (school, personal, or lab experience is fine).
  • Comfortable working with customers, asking questions, and documenting work.
  • Ability to follow procedures, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and IT processes.
