Assistant Director of Leadership Annual Giving, Health Sciences

In this high impact role within the Division of University Advancement, the Assistant Director of Leadership Annual Giving – Health Sciences plays a key role in a cutting-edge annual giving program designed to engage and grow the next generation of philanthropic supporters. This position focuses on delivering a first-class philanthropic experience for donors connected to UB’s health sciences schools through personalized digital and in person engagement. The Assistant Director contributes directly to annual giving success while helping build a strong pipeline of future major gift support, making a meaningful impact on UB’s mission today and for the future.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Donor relationship management & outreach (portfolio of 600–800 alumni and friends with a focus on gifts of $1,000–$50,000)
  • Personalized digital & 1:1 engagement (high velocity outreach using email, video, CRM tools, and in person connections)
  • Fundraising & pipeline development (solicitation, stewardship, and referral of qualified major gift prospects)
  • Campaign execution & collaboration (partnering with Annual Giving, Alumni Engagement, Advancement Communications, and health sciences advancement teams)
  • Data driven activity & reporting (CRM hygiene, portfolio management, and performance tracking)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of experience in a fund-development role, with demonstrated success in goal-achievement, planning and personal solicitation. Related experience in professional sales/marketing, financial planning/advising and other fields will be considered.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across mediums, especially via video conferencing.
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Able to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirement.
