Development Manager
Position Overview:
The Development Manager is a key leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive fundraising program to advance Southern Arizona Senior Pride’s mission and growth. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will lead individual and legacy giving, grants, corporate/business sponsorships, seasonal appeals, and special events to meet annual revenue goals and cultivate sustainable donor relationships. This role works closely with the management team and communications staff—and collaborates across the organization—to develop creative, integrated outreach and marketing materials, align programmatic priorities with solicitation efforts, and track progress toward fundraising targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Development Strategy & Execution
• Create and implement an annual fund development plan aligned with the organization’s strategic direction.
• Manage and grow the individual donor program, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Cultivate corporate sponsorships and workplace giving partnerships.
• Plan and execute donor appreciation events, community campaigns, and fundraising events.
2. Donor Relations & Communications
• Maintain and enhance the donor database (Bloomerang) to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, segmentation, and stewardship.
• Create compelling donor communications, including appeals, impact reports, acknowledgments, special donor stewardship communications, and legacy/planned giving materials.
• Develop and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, and institutional funders, including solicitation strategies for legacy/planned giving.
• Develop, implement, and cultivate a planned giving program to enhance the organization’s Legacy Society and sustain its long-term legacy giving pipeline.
• Represent Senior Pride at community events and networking opportunities to broaden visibility, promote legacy giving, and strengthen donor relationships.
3. Grant Acquisition & Management
• Identify and cultivate grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources aligned with organizational priorities.
• Research grant opportunities, write high-quality proposals, tailoring narratives and metrics to funder requirements with support from cross-functional teams.
• Manage submission process and maintain an organized tracking system for deadlines, attachments, funder contacts, and follow-ups.
• Steward funders through personalized thank-you communications, timely impact reports, site visits, and renewal or expansion discussions.
4. Collaboration & Leadership
• Work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to align fundraising with strategic priorities.
• Utilize program data-management tools to enhance donor solicitation and segmentation.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather stories, data, and outcomes for fundraising materials.
• Supervise development volunteers or interns as applicable.
5. Administration & Reporting
• Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress, pipeline, and projections.
• Manage development budgets and ensure cost-effective development and fundraising practices.
• Ensure compliance with charitable regulations and donor restrictions.

• Familiarity with issues facing older LGBTQI+ populations, including health and social service needs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, virtual meeting platforms, and social media tools.
• Advanced experience with Bloomerang donor management software — data entry, segmentation, reporting, gift processing, and stewardship workflows.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fund development, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and fundraising management, particularly within LGBTQI+ and/or aging services.
• Ability to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job. This position requires evenings and weekends as scheduled.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License.
