Whizara is seeking enthusiastic and dependable ASL Instructors to teach interactive after-school classes for K–12 students this summer. If you’re passionate about American Sign Language, education, and helping students build communication skills, we’d love to hear from you.

 

This opportunity is open to individuals with beginner, intermediate, or advanced ASL experience. Whether you’re an aspiring educator, college student, heritage signer, or someone who simply enjoys working with kids, this role offers a rewarding way to make a difference.

 

No formal teaching experience is required. We provide all curriculum, lesson plans, and materials so you can focus on creating a fun and engaging learning experience for students.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach engaging ASL lessons for K–12 students using Whizara’s curriculum
  • Introduce students to American Sign Language and Deaf culture
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
  • Adapt instruction to different ages and learning styles
  • Keep students motivated through interactive activities and participation
  • Maintain professionalism when communicating with staff and parents
  • Provide positive feedback and encouragement to students
  • Arrive prepared and ready to lead a successful class experience

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Interest or experience in American Sign Language
  • Open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced ASL users
  • Passion for working with children and supporting student growth
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, patient, energetic, and professional attitude
  • Comfortable leading small or large groups of students
  • Reliable transportation to Rosemead, CA
  • Prior teaching, tutoring, or youth experience is a plus—but not required
