Family Advocate

Family Advocate – Full Time, 40 Hours per week 

 

Responsible for the following job duties:

 

  • Provides ongoing support to families who have children enrolled in Head Start or public preschool classrooms.
  • Will assist, encourage and support caregivers as they foster the growth and development of their children.
  • Provides caregivers with any information they may need in the areas of health, parent-child relations, community resources, adult educational, and vocational services, etc.
  •  Utilizes home visits, groups, workshops and/or other forms of communication in order to support the families they work with and connect them to resources

 

Successful candidates will have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in human services field preferred or AA degree or equivalent required, preferably in social work, psychology or related field or Family Development Credential.
  • Two years’ experience providing social or educational services to low-income and culturally diverse populations.
  • Experience and working with or providing services to children and families.

 

Compensation/Benefits:

 

  • Salary: starting at $43,826
