Engineering Intern
- Develop 2D and 3D drawings of products manufactured by DCL and DCL proprietary products
- Submittal of lifting calculations, CG calculations, load calculations on testing scenarios, etc.
- Identify and secure the technical tools necessary to effectively design lifting solutions that meet customer requirements and differentiate DCL from its competitors.
- Confirmation of product interfacing via CAD files and hands on assembly.
- Assist in rigging layout drawings of testing setups by CAD for DCL Operations for testing scenarios and for client approval.
- Support sales initiative with technical information to help complete sales
- Assist in new product development
- Data Entry for DCL’s asset management software
- Assist in the inspection, testing, and certification of rigging materials (slings, chains, wire ropes, hooks, etc.) in accordance with industry standards.
- Perform hands-on mechanical testing of lifting equipment using load test machines, hydraulic presses, and other specialized equipment.
- Support the engineering team in documenting test procedures, results, and performance data for analysis and reporting.
- Work closely with quality control to ensure compliance with safety and manufacturing standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations for defective or damaged rigging equipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to organize, label, and manage inventory of rigging components and tools.
- Aid in the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to testing and handling of rigging materials.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and rigging charts to support engineering and field teams.
- Support the design or modification of rigging products by providing feedback from testing and warehouse observations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in accordance with company and safety guidelines.
- Research and development of existing products or cases presented.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Engineering.
