Camp Counselor
Camp Mirage is seeking an energetic, dependable, and positive Camp Counselor to help create a fun, safe, and memorable summer experience for children ages 5–14. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, brings strong energy each day, and can lead activities with enthusiasm, patience, and care. Camp Counselors play a key role in building community, encouraging participation, supporting campers emotionally and socially, and helping each child feel included, confident, and excited to return.
- Supervise and engage campers throughout the camp day in a safe, attentive, and upbeat manner
- Lead and assist with a variety of camp activities including sports, games, arts and crafts, team challenges, outdoor play, and themed programming
- Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every camper feels seen, supported, and encouraged
- Maintain strong awareness of camper safety at all times, including transitions, attendance, bathroom breaks, snack times, and outdoor activities
- Set a positive tone by modeling kindness, patience, teamwork, responsibility, and enthusiasm
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of camp supplies, activity spaces, and equipment
- Support campers in resolving conflicts respectfully and help reinforce camp rules and expectations in a calm, constructive way
- Communicate clearly with camp leadership regarding camper needs, behavior concerns, incidents, or supply issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good judgment, patience, and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ability to lead groups, keep campers engaged, and bring fun to everyday moments
- Willingness to be active, outdoors, and involved throughout the day
- Positive role model with a strong sense of responsibility
