Social Media Intern (Graphic Design + Video Editing)

Location: New York, New York
Type: Internship

Duration: Start Date: Early June – End Date: End of August

Schedule: 24 hours per week


 

OVERVIEW 

BeautyMatter is a leading B2B media and intelligence platform at the intersection of beauty, business, and culture. We help industry leaders navigate the forces shaping the global beauty and wellness landscape through thoughtful content, community, and connection.

We’re looking for a Designer + Video Editing Intern who is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about digital storytelling. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience creating content across platforms and contributing to a visually driven brand in a fast-paced media environment.


 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design and produce social-first content, including graphics, short-form video, and motion assets
  • Edit video content for social platforms (Reels, LinkedIn, web), including clips, interviews, and event footage
  • Assist with content production, from concepting to final delivery
  • Maintain visual consistency with BeautyMatter’s brand across all assets
  • Support real-time and rapid-turnaround content needs
  • Organize and manage creative assets, templates, and project files
  • Collaborate with marketing, editorial, and partnerships teams to bring content ideas to life
  • Stay current on design trends, video formats, and platform best practices


 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, Media, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong design sensibility with an eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling
  • Experience editing video for social platforms
  • Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), and/or CapCut
  • Basic understanding of motion graphics and short-form video trends
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects
  • Portfolio required (social content, video editing, or design work)
