Job Description
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as OSP (Outside Plant) Field Engineers. This is an entry-level position with no prior experience required. The role involves collecting field data for telecommunications infrastructure projects related to fiber optic network deployments. Field Engineers will work outdoors gathering information on utility poles, underground utilities, conduit paths, easements, and existing telecommunications facilities.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outside, traveling to different locations, learning new technology, and being part of large-scale fiber network projects.
Responsibilities
· Perform field surveys for aerial and underground telecommunications projects
· Capture photos and measurements of utility poles, conduit paths, and existing infrastructure
· Document field conditions using company software and mobile devices
· Attempt to gain access to utility poles and telecommunications infrastructure located on residential or commercial properties while maintaining a professional and respectful approach with property owners or tenants
· Identify access issues, safety concerns, and route obstacles in the field
· Work closely with engineering and design teams to provide accurate field data
· Follow company quality and safety procedures
· Drive to various project locations throughout the assigned market
Requirements
· No experience required — training will be provided
· Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
· Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
· Ability to walk long distances and work near roadways or utility infrastructure
· Basic computer and smartphone skills
· Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
· Ability to work independently and manage daily assignments
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience using maps, GPS, or mobile applications
· Construction, utility, landscaping, surveying, or labor experience is a plus but not required
· Comfortable climbing small hills, walking uneven terrain, and working in residential or commercial areas
