Job Title: Tax Staff (Temp-to-Hire)

Position Summary
This is a temporary-to-hire position created to support the growth and operational needs of the Company’s internal corporate income tax department. This role offers an excellent opportunity to begin or further develop a career in corporate taxation and gain hands-on experience in a large corporate environment with a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.

The Tax Staff support the Company’s internal corporate income tax function by assisting with tax compliance, tax accounting, and reporting activities. This role works closely with the Tax Manager to ensure accurate and timely filings, compliance with applicable tax regulations, and proper documentation to support audits and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with accounting, finance, and legal teams to gather and analyze tax-related information to prepare the initial year-end tax closing package under supervision
- Prepare tax review workpapers and maintain supporting documentation in internal tax files
- Assist in the review of corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns prepared by a third-party Big 4 accounting firm
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, as needed
- Collect information and analyze data to respond to tax audit requests under supervision
- Assist in analyzing and resolving tax notices
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, as needed
- Perform basic tax research on federal, state, and local tax matters
- Gather and analyze tax-related information to support Forms 1042/1042-S compliance prepared by a third party
- Assist with various tax-related projects, as assigned
- Assist with annual reports, tax license renewals, and Secretary of State filings prepared by third parties
- Coordinate with the legal department to support data requests related to mergers and acquisitions
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Tax (required)
Experience
- 1–2 years of tax experience in a CPA firm or equivalent experience in an internal corporate tax department
Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of corporate income taxation.
- Basic understanding of accounting, year end closing and reconciliations.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
