Marketing Technology & Operations Intern

You'll support marketing operations and internal process improvements across multiple B2B brands. This role combines marketing execution with workflow optimization and tool-building, using platforms and technologies best suited to the problem.

You do not need to be an expert in every tool listed. We are looking for curious, practical problem-solvers who can learn quickly, ask good questions and help turn messy business needs into useful tools or workflows.

This is a strong fit for a rising junior or senior (seniors preferred) studying computer science, information systems, digital media, or a related technical field who wants hands-on experience building practical tools that solve real operational challenges in a marketing environment.

What You'll Work On

  • Build internal tools for marketing workflows (approval processes, campaign tracking, content organization)
  • Support event marketing operations with registration tracking, attendee profiling, and reporting tools
  • Develop AI-assisted content support using tools like ChatGPT and Claude (tagging, research, summarization)
  • Create lightweight dashboards or reporting views that help marketing teams tracks campaign performance and engagement
  • Identify manual processes in marketing operations and prototype automation solutions
  • Document workflows and handoff processes so teams can maintain what you build

This internship will involve a mix of structured projects and real-world problem solving. Some assignments may involve dashboards, forms, workflow tools, campaign tracking, audience data, documentation or AI-assisted research. The exact project mix will depend on business needs and the intern's experience, strengths and interests.

Who This Is For

  • Rising junior or senior, seniors preferred, pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, digital media, business analytics, information systems, or a related field
  • Interested in how marketing work gets planned, organized, executed, measured, and improved across multiple channels and brands
  • Comfortable learning and using digital tools, spreadsheets, AI platforms, and workflow systems
  • Able to translate loosely defined marketing or business needs into organized tasks, trackers, summaries, or simple tools
  • Strong communicator who enjoys working with people, asking good questions, and helping teams make work easier to understand and manage
  • Curious about practical uses of AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude for research, content support, tagging, summarization, organization, or workflow improvement
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping define what “done” looks like
  • Able to work on-site in Wauwatosa, WI on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Applicants will be asked to share an example of a project, class assignment, dashboard, automation, tracker, website, workflow or other tool they have helped create or improve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to marketing concepts such as campaigns, content strategy, event marketing, audience engagement, email marketing, or social media
  • Experience using spreadsheets, project trackers, forms, or dashboards to organize information and improve team workflows
  • Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar tools for research, summarization, tagging, writing support, or workflow improvement
  • Experience creating or improving a process, tracker, campaign asset, workflow, website, automation, or other project that helped people organize or complete work
  • Comfort learning new tools and experimenting with practical solutions, including no-code platforms, Microsoft 365 tools, marketing automation tools, or lightweight web tools
  • Ability to document a process clearly so others can understand, maintain, or improve it later

  • Duration: 10-week summer internship (mid-June through mid-August 2026)
  • Schedule: On-site 3 days/week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

  • Compensation: $20/hour
