General Manager

Description.

Our CEO and COO are stepping back from day-to-day Tuscaloosa, Auburn, and Ole Miss operations because we trust this seat to run independently. If you've ever wanted the responsibility of running a business without the risk of starting one yourself, this is that role. One of our earliest non-founder hires, working directly with the founders and our investor + advisor network.

Note: We are hiring 3 different positions - one in Tuscaloosa, one in Auburn, and one in Oxford. We hope that this is full-time, but would be open to part-time grad students open to ~30 hrs/wk. Please indicate which location you are most interested in.

What you'll own.

  • Store P&L: Revenue targets, operating costs, store-level marketing spend, and the strategy to hit the numbers every month.
  • Team leadership: Hire, train, manage, and develop ~5 storefront associates. C-suite final sign-off on hires and exits.
  • Daily operations: Open / close, inventory, POS, cash handling, and the in-store customer experience.
  • The quad. experience: You're the face of quad. in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, or Oxford for renters and lenders both.
  • Local marketing: Social content, in-store events, partnerships, and campus activations that drive awareness and rentals.
  • Reporting: Weekly performance + ops updates to the COO. Flag issues early and bring solutions.

 Who you are.

  • 2–4 years in retail, customer service, operations, logistics, or a similarly high-execution environment.
  • Comfortable owning a P&L and making real decisions with real consequences. We'll help train you to get comfortable with this too.
  • Excellent with people, including the team you'll manage, and the customers, lenders, and partners you'll work with daily.
  • Organized, calm under pressure, and biased toward action.
  • Excited about fashion, marketplaces, early-stage startups, or all three.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Open to graduate students.

Logistics.

  • Location: Tuscaloosa, AL; Auburn, AL; or Oxford, MS.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM, with flexibility for events and peak periods. This is also flexible if you are a graduate student looking for a part-time role ~ 30 hrs/wk.
  • Compensation: $60,000 base + performance bonus tied to store performance. This will shift if you are looking to do this part-time.
  • Time off: 15 days PTO + sick leave per state law.
  • Travel: Reimbursed when applicable. Rare, and most travel is optional.
  • Reports to: Lane Mahoney, Co-Founder & COO.
