Engineer I (Full-Time) – Pike Engineering

📍 Onsite | Cincinnati, OH

Pike Engineering is hiring an Engineer I to join our growing team! This is an entry-level, full-time opportunity ideal for recent graduates who are eager to build a career in power and utility engineering while working alongside experienced professionals.

What You’ll Do

As an Engineer I, you’ll work under close supervision to support engineering and technical projects while developing your skills and independence. You’ll gain hands-on experience and exposure to real-world utility projects.

  • Assist with identifying, analyzing, and solving engineering and design challenges
  • Support planning, estimating, scheduling, and tracking work activities
  • Prepare accurate technical documentation, reports, calculations, and sketches
  • Maintain organized and accurate project records and files
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • Continuously develop engineering, technical, and professional skills
  • Support team goals and represent the company professionally

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program
    OR approved evaluation of non‑ABET credentials by NCEES
    OR Master’s/Doctoral degree in Engineering from an institution with an ABET-accredited undergraduate program
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles and problem-solving methods
  • Familiarity with researching technical issues, evaluating alternatives, and making sound recommendations
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and power quality
  • Exposure to distribution construction standards and methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Passed or preparing for the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Exam
  • Basic understanding of project management principles
  • Internship, co-op, or related experience in the utility or power industry
