AV Junior Systems Design Engineer
Job Summary:
Baker Audio Visual is seeking a skilled and dedicated Audio Visual (AV) Junior Systems Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and documentation of audiovisual systems. This entry-level engineering position supports senior engineers in creating drawings, system layouts, and technical documentation. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with AV system design and development across multiple project types.
- Create and modify CAD drawings, riser diagrams, and schematics.
- Support site surveys and document existing conditions.
- Prepare bills of materials and assist in cost estimation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure project alignment.
- Participate in commissioning activities and field verification tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in audiovisual design, drafting, or field installation (school projects, internships, entry level positions).
- Working knowledge of AV system components and signal flow.
- Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q-SYS, and related systems.
- AVIXA CTS certification a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit; experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Ability to review and modify existing drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong multitasking ability and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to lift and mover AV equipment as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.
