Student Success Coach – Student Support Specialist (AmeriCorps) – OUSD Think College Now Elementary School

As a Student Success Coach with BAYAC AmeriCorps, you will support students through academic assistance, relationship-building, and social-emotional learning support. This position is hosted at OUSD Think College Now Elementary School, a school community dedicated to supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom.

AmeriCorps Members serving in this role will help students strengthen their academic success, emotional regulation, communication skills, and positive peer relationships through mentorship, restorative practices, and student-centered support strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in their academic and social-emotional well-being in and out of the classroom
  • Build positive relationships and rapport with students through conversations, mentorship, and play
  • Utilize conflict resolution, restorative justice, and emotional regulation tools to support student behavior and safety
  • Support students with relationship-building, classroom engagement, and academic success
  • Participate in classroom morning meetings to help build community with students and teachers
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student needs and classroom culture
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and supportive school environment
  • Provide individualized and small-group student support as needed
  • Assist with maintaining positive student engagement throughout the school day
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities

Job Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Contract

Pay: ~$2,700 per month 

Location: Think College Now Elementary School – Oakland, CA

Schedule:

  • 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
  • Monday to Friday
