quality. As a growing small business, we offer interns a hands-on, collaborative environment where
their contributions genuinely shape the brand.
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
The Design & Sales Intern will work at the intersection of creative design and customer-facing sales
for Yellowcake Shop. This role is a great fit for a student with an eye for aesthetics, a passion for
fashion, and an interest in how great design translates into sales. The intern will contribute to visual
merchandising, product styling, and sales support—gaining exposure to both the creative and
commercial sides of a boutique fashion brand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in developing visual concepts and mood boards for seasonal collections and
campaigns
• Support product styling for photography, lookbooks, and online listings
• Help with visual merchandising—both in-store layout concepts and digital storefront
presentation
• Collaborate with the team on product descriptions, styling guides, and trend-driven copy
• Assist in processing sales orders, tracking inventory, and maintaining product databases
• Support sales outreach efforts, including styling recommendations and customer follow-ups
• Help coordinate pop-up events or in-store experiences, including setup and customer
engagement
• Assist with the creation of digital assets such as graphics, product cards, and lookbook pages
• Provide feedback on new product concepts from a customer perspective
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Currently enrolled in Fashion Design, Visual Merchandising, Graphic Design, Retail
Management, or a related program
• Strong visual aesthetic and understanding of current fashion trends
• Proficiency or coursework in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) preferred
• Interest in sales, customer experience, and the business side of fashion
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer-facing interactions
• Ability to work on-site for select styling, event, and shoot days (location flexibility discussed)
• Proactive, creative, and comfortable contributing ideas in a small team setting
