Adult Programming Coordinator

Do you know how to turn an idea into a packed room?  Basalt Regional Library is looking for an Adult Programming Coordinator who can create meaningful, memorable experiences for the community — everything from author talks and workshops to live performances, art displays, volunteer engagement, and large-scale events.  This is not a behind-the-scenes desk job.  This role blends creativity, community engagement, and hands-on event coordination. You’ll be the person bringing people together, building partnerships, coordinating logistics, welcoming presenters, managing volunteers, and helping shape the library as a vibrant community hub.  If you thrive in fast-moving environments, enjoy balancing creativity with organization, and can move seamlessly from brainstorming an event to setting up chairs and troubleshooting microphones, this role may be a strong fit.

What You’ll Do
* Plan and lead engaging programs and events for adults
* Coordinate event logistics from start to finish
* Recruit, train, and support library volunteers
* Build partnerships with local organizations, artists, and presenters
* Promote programs in collaboration with our marketing team
* Represent the library at community events and outreach activities
* Help create welcoming, inclusive experiences for patrons
* Occasionally work evenings and weekends for events

What We’re Looking For
* Strong project management and organizational skills
* Excellent communication and public speaking ability
* Someone who is collaborative, adaptable, and self-directed
* Experience planning events, programs, or community engagement initiatives
* Someone who can anticipate needs, solve problems quickly, and stay calm under pressure

If you’re interested in applying, please send a cover letter and resume to hr@basaltlibrary.org.  Applications received before 5/31/2026 will be prioritized.
