Youth Development Specialist – After School Support (BAYAC AmeriCorps) – Francis Scott Key Elementary

As a Youth Development Specialist with BAYAC AmeriCorps, you will support elementary school students through academic assistance, enrichment activities, and positive youth development programming. This position is hosted at Francis Scott Key Elementary School, an after-school program located in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood.

AmeriCorps Members serving in this role will support curriculum development and implementation while helping create a safe, engaging, and supportive after-school environment for students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide homework assistance and academic support to elementary school students during the after-school program
  • Support curriculum development and implementation for enrichment and recreational activities
  • Build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional growth and engagement
  • Assist with facilitating enrichment activities, recreation, and group-based programming
  • Support daytime student academics and classroom engagement as needed
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive after-school environment
  • Collaborate with school staff and program team members to support student success
  • Assist with organizing classroom materials and preparing program spaces
  • Participate in program meetings, trainings, and organization-wide events

Job Details:

Job Type: Full-time, Contract

Pay: ~$2,700 per month 

Location: In person (Francis Scott Key Elementary – San Francisco, CA)

Schedule:

  • 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
  • Monday to Friday
