Library Associate - Programs & Outreach Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Title: Library Associate/Programs & Outreach Coordinator (Full Time)

About the Position:

Join the team at the Atlantic City Free Public Library as a Library Associate/Programs & Outreach Coordinator and help provide responsive services to our vibrant and diverse community.

 

Responsibilities include planning and coordinating outreach events throughout the community. Under the direction of the Library Director, this position will identify community needs, cultivate relationships with local organizations and social service agencies, represent the library at community events, and develop initiatives that strengthen the library’s role as an essential community resource.

 

Major Duties:

  • Promote library services by representing the Atlantic City Free Public Library at outreach events, tabling events, and community programs.
  • Prepare and organize materials for events, including books, promotional items, and informational flyers.
  • Engage with community members during events to build relationships and encourage participation in future library programs and services.
  • Coordinate book pickups from Bridge to Books for use in outreach initiatives and community events.
  • Set up and manage event tables, ensuring promotional materials are displayed in an organized and effective manner.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations to support future library programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts.
  • Provide professional and responsive library services to the general public.
  • Participate in collaborative projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Refill Little Free Libraries and local coffee shops with books and library materials.
  • Provide direct patron assistance at service desks throughout the library.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. 
  • One to two years of experience in outreach, programming, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Experience in a public library setting is preferred. 
  • Bilingual skills are a plus. 
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record is required. 
  • Ability to use a personal vehicle to attend meetings and events, and to transport materials and equipment. Mileage reimbursement is provided. 

This is a full-time position requiring 35 hours per week. Saturday and evening hours are required as needed. The annual salary range is $45,000-$52,000, with a generous benefits package included.

 

Note: This is a Civil Service position. Applicants must comply with the New Jersey First Act.
