The Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Clinical Social Worker (PCN 27207) to join our team. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Work Shift: First shift, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: 500 Vine St, Hartford, CT

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Spends approximately 80% of time in offices at the Hartford Community and Geographic Area (GA) Circuit courts.
  • Services include: Triage and assessment of clients with history of mental health and/or addictions problems, liaison work with clinical providers to arrange follow up services and care, coordinating services with staff from Judicial to manage clients in the court system.
  • May write LCSW Emergency Certificates for clients who present as a danger to self or others. Develops and implements diversion programs for clients with mental illness to move from the criminal justice system to the mental health system for more appropriate services.
  • Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments, identifies risk issues, develops and implements plans that are person centered and recovery oriented. Responsible for the clinical coordination of treatment/services including the interface with other agencies and providers.
  • Documents in the medical records as per policies and procedures, audits medical records documentation to ensure quality and compliance, performs clinical direct care duties.

Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC) is a community based mental health center, operated by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, which provides an array of innovative clinical and community support services to individuals with a psychiatric disability, in many cases with co-occurring problems of substance abuse. Our mission is to partner with persons in recovery to ensure access to high quality and culturally competent person-centered behavioral healthcare services

The Forensics team is an outpatient department at CRMHC. It is a multi-disciplinary team which provides care to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders who are involved in the criminal justice system and in need of intensive community supports. Assigned to the Community Court offices of the program, the CRMHC Jail Diversion program diverts clients from jail to community settings.

Please note:

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure as a clinical social worker in the State of Connecticut.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with clients with mental health and legal issues.
  • Experience evaluation clients with risk issues related to self or others complicated by legal issues.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice clinical social work pursuant to Sec. 20-195 (m-z) of the Connecticut General Statutes.

Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S. § 1320a-7b(f).
