Low Volt Electrician

Job Title: Low Volt Electrician I  Effective Date: 01June2026 

Department: Operations 

Reports to: Facilities Superintendent

Location: 4 Sunshine Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174 

Work Schedule: 4X10 M-Th in a manufacturing environment 

 

Position Summary

The Low Voltage Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems, including data, communications, security, and control systems. This role ensures systems are installed safely, meet applicable codes and standards, and function reliably to support operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage systems such as: 
    • Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics)
    • Security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms)
    • Fire alarm systems
    • Audio/visual and communication systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to resolve issues
  • Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and inspections
  • Adhere to safety standards and company policies at all times
  • Support system upgrades, retrofits, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Other Duties as Assigned aligned with your skills and our business needs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in low voltage electrical work
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, BICSI standards)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed

Preferred Skills

  • Test function of all electrical components to ensure working as specified under normal operating conditions
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure and IP-based systems
  • Ability to operate testing equipment (e.g., cable testers, multimeters, OTDR)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods

Work Environment

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor
  • May require travel and occasional overtime depending on project demands
