Pointers Connect Internship Marketing Intern

Interns must meet eligibility requirements for the Pointers Connect Internship (PCI) program to be hired and receive pay. Requirements include:

  • currently enrolled at UWSP
  • Junior or Senior Status (60+ credits earned)
  • Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Are either a first-generation, non-traditional, or Pell-eligible student

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Mission Advancement Director, the Marketing Intern will support a variety of communication, marketing, and fundraising initiatives across YMCA departments. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful performance in this role. Reasonable accommodations and comparable experience or training will be considered.

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and willingness to learn additional software platforms, knowledge of Canva a plus.
  • Ability to work independently after receiving direction and training.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Effective time management, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to effectively communicate and actively interact with employees, members, volunteers, and the public in both individual and group settings. Ability to sit, stand, move throughout the facility, and use standard office equipment for extended periods of time may be required.
