POSITION-Teacher Apprentice (Middle School)

 

OUR MISSION

The mission of Central Queens Academy Charter School is to prepare students for success in education, the workforce and the community through a school that integrates literacy, standards-based academics and culturally responsive supportive services.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • School Support Associates are paired with a veteran teacher to learn from while also supporting their class and teaching sections of the day.
  • School Support Associates support lunch and recess
  • School Support Associates serve as our in-house substitute teacher, thereby giving them experience in multiple disciplines.
  • School Support Associates are given small groups of intervention scholars to support.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least two years of teaching support experience in an urban setting highly preferred
  • Evidence of self-reflective practices, coachability, self-motivation, and collaboration required

COMPENSATION

  • Salary $45,000+/yr
