Transportation Student Assistant
The California Transportation Commission is responsible for programming and allocating funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail, transit and active transportation improvements throughout California. The Commission also advises and assists the Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency and the Legislature in formulating and evaluating state policies and plans for California’s transportation programs. The Commission is also an active participant in the initiation and development of State and Federal legislation that seeks to secure financial stability for the State’s transportation needs.
The California Transportation Commission is looking for a Student Assistant who will assist in a wide range of assignments within the unit. Duties and Responsibilities are as follows;
- Assist with maintaining and updating program tracking spreadsheets, databases, charts, and other tools related to ATP programming, allocations, amendments, and project delivery tracking.
- Assist in compiling, organizing, and analyzing transportation program data from multiple sources to support reports, presentations, and program monitoring activities. Assist with other administrative-related projects as assigned.
- Assist with research and analysis related to transportation funding programs, statewide transportation policy, programming guidelines, legislative issues, and project information.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining electronic files, records, and reference materials related to Commission-administered transportation funding programs.
- Assist with reviewing and formatting spreadsheets, tables, reports, and briefing materials using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Assist with special projects and other administrative or analytical assignments as needed.

- Ability to organize, analyze, and present information in a clear and accurate manner.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Schedule: 15-25 Hours SALARY: $20.00 Hourly
