Fund Development Coordinator

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Fund Development Coordinator to join our team and drive our fundraising efforts forward. This vital role involves cultivating relationships, orchestrating engaging events, and implementing strategic campaigns to support our organization’s mission. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of nonprofit fundraising strategies. As a key member of our fund development team, you will play a crucial role in setting goals, strengthening donor engagement, expanding philanthropic partnerships, and building sustainable support aligned with City priorities. Duties

  • Fundraising Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement annual fundraising goals, plans, and budgets; monitor results and adjust strategies. Provide regular progress updates and data-informed reports for leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Annual Giving & Donor Engagement: Plan and execute annual campaigns (mail, digital, appeals) and donor recognition/stewardship. Support donor and member engagement initiatives to improve retention and giving.
  • Sponsorships, Foundations and Grants: Research and pursue sponsorships, institutional funding. Prepare proposals, coordinate award documentation, reporting, and stewardship for institutional funders. Identify grant opportunities; assist with grant writing, submission, tracking, and reporting requirements.
  • Database/CRM: Maintain accurate donor records; support segmentation, pipeline tracking, and performance reporting. Ensure data integrity in donor systems.
  • Collaboration & Events: Coordinate fundraising events and public engagement activities with CES staff and other City departments. Serve as liaison to fundraising support groups (e.g., auxiliary/volunteer organizations) as assigned.
  • Compliance: Follow gift acceptance practices, donor intent/gift agreements, ethical fundraising standards, and applicable laws/policies. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, marketing, or other related experience with attention to detail and organizational excellence.
  • Excellent proposal writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives for grant applications and sponsorship requests
  • Effective negotiation skills to secure sponsorships, partnerships, and funding agreements
  • Ability to develop strategic plans aligned with organizational goals while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with nonprofit management principles including volunteer management, fundraising best practices, and social media outreach
  • Understanding of Wills, trusts & estate law as it relates to estate planning opportunities for donors
  • Strong research skills to identify new funding sources and partnership opportunities within university or community settings
