Digital Marketing Intern

Position: Digital Marketing Intern, Part Time

Location:  Austin, TX preferred (hybrid)

Compensation: Paid, competitive based on experience

 

Your role as a Digital Marketing Intern will be hands-on and directly tied to the multidisciplinary  work our marketing team uses to reach campaigns, consultants, advocacy groups, research firms, nonprofits, and other firms. You will support content development, market research, social media, video, website optimization and day-to-day marketing operations while learning how a political technology company builds trust, sharpens its message and moves quickly in a competitive market.
 

This internship is built for someone who wants real experience, not busy work. You will work closely with Sofia, our Marketing Coordinator, to understand RumbleUp’s brand, audience and competitive position, then help turn that knowledge into content, research, campaigns and creative assets that support our growth. You will see first hand what it takes to keep pace with accelerating market demand, new opportunities, and new best practices in both marketing, SaaS, and political spheres due to the rise of AI.
 

Austin-based candidates are strongly preferred. Our local team meets in person at our Austin branch office at least once per week. The office is located at 8th & Congress and includes perks like free food, free snacks, free coffee/sparkling water/soft drinks, weekly happy hours and regular fun events. Please note that parking is not included - our local team uses SpotHero or similar parking apps to assist in finding affordable spaces.
 

Your Contributions and Responsibilities

Brand, Market & Audience Research

  • Complete a SWOT analysis to identify RumbleUp’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the political technology space
  • Track new marketing trends, platform updates and digital strategy ideas, then deliver a short weekly report with your top highlights and how they could be used at RumbleUp
  • Support influencer and partner research, including identifying relevant voices, creators, consultants and organizations in the political, advocacy and SaaS space we can collaborate with

Content & Creative Support

  • Assist with lead magnet content creation, including guides, checklists, one-pagers, landing page copy and campaign resources
  • Help draft, edit and organize client-facing text content for marketing outreach
  • Support graphic creation for social media, blog promotion, sales materials, event content and internal marketing needs
  • Assist with short-form video concepts, scripting, filming and editing using tools like Klaap and Canva
  • Come prepared to be on camera when needed for social content, product education and marketing videos
  • Help ensure marketing materials reflect RumbleUp’s brand voice, editorial standards and audience expectations

Social Media & Engagement

  • Support the development and scheduling of social media content across RumbleUp’s active channels
  • Engage with relevant political, marketing, SaaS and campaign content to increase brand visibility and strengthen audience relationships
  • Meet weekly engagement goals across social platforms, including 10 meaningful comments, 50 relevant likes and 5 reposts/shares
  • Monitor conversations, trends and competitor activity across social platforms
  • Bring forward ideas for social posts, campaigns, video series and audience engagement based on what you are seeing in the market

Website, SEO & AEO Support

  • Assist with website content updates that improve clarity, search performance and user experience
  • Support SEO work through keyword research, metadata updates, content organization and blog optimization
  • Help with AEO-focused website improvements so RumbleUp content is easier for AI search tools and answer engines to understand and surface
  • Review existing website content for gaps, outdated language and opportunities to better serve our core audiences
  • Assist with content analytics to help the team understand what is working, what needs refinement and where we should focus next

Key Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, design-focused or a related field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in digital marketing, political technology, SaaS, campaigns, advocacy or public affairs
  • Comfortable creating content across formats, including written content, graphics, video and social media
  • Comfortable appearing on camera for marketing and social content
  • Strong attention to detail and respect for brand standards
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, ask smart questions and move projects forward
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments at once
  • Willingness to learn new tools, platforms and marketing workflows
  • Familiarity with LLMs, Canva, HubSpot, Asana, Google Analytics, SEO tools, video editing software, and social media platforms preferred
  • Able to furnish professional or academic references upon request

You will get exposure to brand strategy, content marketing, social media, video, SEO, AEO, audience research and real client needs while contributing work the team can push into production.
