Shift Information: Primarily 1st shift; must be willing to flex to 2nd and 3rd shift as needed for coverage/support

Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or similar)
Ability to work and communicate effectively within a team that includes UAW employees, operations, and other engineers
Proficient in troubleshooting and addressing real-time safety issues
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive projects to closure
Flexibility to support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts as needed
Strong communication and project facilitation skills
We’re searching for a Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer to drive safety culture improvement, support project execution, and enhance visibility to project completion within the Davenport fabrication departments.
Position Overview:
As a Fabrication ME, you’ll provide daily engineering support in fabrication, engage in proactive and reactive safety activities, and facilitate communication and project progress across all shifts. You’ll participate in continuous improvement, address safety observations, and implement innovative safety and ergonomic solutions—helping to complete more projects and achieve safety targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support proactive and reactive safety initiatives within fabrication
Address safety observations and execute closure on safety-related projects
Aid in Continuous Improvement (CI) project execution to meet CI200 safety targets
Prioritize and facilitate communication on projects between shifts
Specify and design tooling for safety and ergonomic improvements
Support daily operations by responding to tactical safety issues
Innovate and implement process improvements
Engage and communicate effectively with a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple shifts
