Civil Engineer - Design

R.H. Batterman & Co., Inc. (Batterman) is adding to our civil engineering team due to company growth and the implementation of our company strategic plan. We are an established multi-discipline firm with a successful and long history as a leader in the Civil Engineering and Survey professions. Since 1917 our firm, currently at 40+ employees, has not encountered much turnover other than through planned retirements. We understand the best way to continue to provide excellent service to our clients is to hire talented, technically competent, motivated employees who are ready to continue the long Batterman tradition of being committed to our employees and community.

As a part of our growing civil engineering team, you will assist in the design and construction management of various transportation, land/site development, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects. Duties will include assisting in the development of reports, plans, details, and other engineering documents related to these projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil design software. This position offers tremendous growth opportunity.

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University with emphasis in Civil Engineering
  • E.I.T. certificate or the ability to obtain the certificate within one year of hire date.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other team members and clients.
  • Demonstrate organizational, communication and computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft, AutoCAD, Excel etc.)
  • Previous internship or summer work within the Civil Engineering Field is preferred but not required.

This position will require collaboration with our team disciplines of design, construction management and land surveying to maintain project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
