Research & Policy Intern
Overview
32BJ SEIU is seeking a Research & Policy Intern to support industry research and organizing campaigns. This role is ideal for candidates with interests in economics, policy, journalism, organizing, or racial and economic justice, and who reflect the diversity of our membership.
Key Responsibilities
- support corporate and industry research using a range of sources to support organizing and policy strategies
- Assist in translating research into campaign plans, briefings, and materials for workers and stakeholders
- Draft written content such as summaries, talking points, and research memos for varied audiences
- Support field research efforts including surveys, interviews, and data collection
- Collaborate with organizing, communications, legal, and political teams
- Help build knowledge on industry trends, worker issues, and regulations
Qualifications
- Interest or coursework in research, policy, labor, economics or social justice fields
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines
- Commitment to racial and economic justice and the labor movement
Work Environment
Based in New York, NY. This internship may include occasional evening or weekend activities and participation in 32JB rallies, actions and events.
