Position Overview:
The Career Center is seeking a creative, motivated, and reliable student assistant to support marketing and social media efforts. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys content creation, understands social media trends, and is comfortable engaging with the campus community.
The position is available for the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters and may be extended based on performance and funding availability.
- Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week
- Location: On-campus, in-person
- Supervisor: The Career Center Technology Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain marketing materials that align with the Career Center brand
- Manage and grow the Career Center’s social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- Explore and evaluate emerging social media platforms for marketing effectiveness
- Plan, develop, and execute strategic marketing campaigns, including reporting goals and results
- Assist with info-tabling and campus events as a Career Center representative
- Collaborate with campus partners and student centers
- Analyze and present social media and marketing analytics at the end of each semester
- Use past data to improve future marketing strategies
- Experience with photography and video creation
Qualifications:
- Must be a current CSUSM sophomore, junior or senior in AMD and/or majoring in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Strong interest in marketing and social media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and brand consistency
- Ability to recognize and uphold the Career Center’s brand identity
- Comfortable engaging with students and speaking in public settings
- Knowledge of major social media platforms
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Team-oriented and able to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students
