Logistics Coordinator
Position Overview
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the daily coordination of freight shipments, communicating with carriers and customers, tracking loads, updating shipment information, and supporting the operations team. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
This position is a great fit for students or recent graduates interested in logistics, supply chain, business operations, transportation, sales support, or customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor freight shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, customers, and internal team members.
- Track shipment status and provide timely updates.
- Assist with scheduling pickups, deliveries, and appointment times.
- Enter and update load information in company systems.
- Help resolve service issues, delays, and communication gaps.
- Support documentation, billing, rate confirmations, and shipment records.
- Follow company procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Provide professional customer service by phone, email, and internal communication tools.
- Work with team members to ensure freight moves safely, efficiently, and on time.
Qualifications
- No prior logistics experience required; training is provided.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable speaking on the phone and using email.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
- Interest in logistics, transportation, business, operations, or customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Customer service, sales, dispatch, warehouse, retail, or office experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure and solve problems quickly.
- Interest in long-term career growth within the logistics industry.
